Unlike any other dojo we know, Quantum is dedicated to taking the magic of martial arts out into the community to children who would not otherwise be exposed to this type of experience. Our outreach programs allow us to reach more than 200 kids per year. Click on the program name to read more.

Partnership with Mercy Housing
reaching low income, immigrant kids in Kent
Quantum provides week-long sessions during the summer to pre-k through fifth grade children at Giddens Elementary School. Camps for Pre-K through 1st Grade and for 2nd Grade through 5gh Grade. This program began in 2018. Look here for future information.
Lake Washington Girls Middle School
Quantum has taught in the Lake Washington Girls Middle School’s (LWGMS or L-Dub for short) physical education program since L-Dub’s founding in 1999. Our longest-running outreach program, it connects two nonprofits with missions to help develop strength in mind, body and spirit. Each year this program reaches 80 girls, 50% of who are typically on scholarship. Teachers: Karri Meleo & Eliza Furmansky
Appian Way Apartments w/ Mercy Housing
The martial arts program at Appian Way Apartments in Kent, WA has been a partnership between Quantum and Mercy Housing since the summer of 2015. This unique partnership brings a fun, inspirational and critical activity to children from low-income, immigrant families. These children would not otherwise be exposed to martial arts and its teachings. Teacher: Alison McCaffree
